Most people think drone flyers are like right around the corner or something. I’m sitting in my bedroom a few miles from you while I peep in your windows with my hyperzoom lens 🤪
[quote:The Deplorable JP Warchild:MV8zOTEwMzMwXzcwNTE4OTMzXzg5Qjg2QTg1] They are scared because of the incident in Venezuela. Soon drones won't need a radio connection to a human operator to achieve a pre-planned route, thanks to advances in visual navigation. If they can't jam them, it's a huge problem, because it's not that easy to stop a small vehicle that requires no outside input to navigate.
think abou terrorist swarms with grenades onto your windows ;) sure, same could be accomplished with autonomous little cars pre-programmed with a route to spread fast and detonate perp can be in the other site of the word, only thing needed is to deliver the "toys" at the desired lauching places
Yep, it's all manufactured fear. The drive to the airport is way more risky than having your plane hit by a drone. A guy made a CGI vid about a drone hitting a airliner and it went viral as a reason to ban them. Even after he admitted it was fake people used it to push their cause.
A bill close to passage in Congress would repeal the current exemption for hobbyists from regulations and for the first time require them to take a test before flying. It also says such operators must fly no higher than 400 feet and stay clear of traditional aircraft. They may have to eventually install radio identification signals on the devices.

Maybe we could get some GLPers to contact Congress to vote against this bill.
