[quote:chasity:MV8zOTMyODcyXzcwOTk2ODcxX0UxRjkyRTQ0] [quote:janedoenut:MV8zOTMyODcyXzcwOTk2NDU1X0REQjg3MUJC] You need the milk. check out this page to make your own condensed milk, sweeten it with whatever you want. https://www.biggerbolderbaking.com/how-to-make-condensed-milk/ SUPER EASY BERRY ICE CREAM Pour frozen strawberries (sliced)or blueberries into your bowl. If making more than one serving, use individual bowls. Sweeten with whatever you want, I use honey or organic sugar. If you use honey, make sure to heat it in a spot of 1/2 and 1/2 so it doesn't freeze. When I use sugar, I use about 2 tbsp. Cover with 1/2 + 1/2 Put into the fridge for 20 minutes as the 1/2 + 1/2 will freeze while the berries thaw. Stir and enjoy!
oh that's interesting! I wonder can I substitute real milk with cashew milk? I want this very low carb and milk has sugar in it too. I just know the store bought low carb sugar free ice cream is expensive and nasty. I'd rather try to make my own and get that creamy texture. I expect most of the texture to come from the heavy whipping cream after whipping it up for a few minutes and didn't think I would need milk for that.
normally the recipe calls for the flavoring, heavy whipping cream and 1/2 a can of condensed milk.
what if I substitute the condensed milk with sugar free syrup, maple flavored, will that work? or is there something in the condensed milk that I need for ice cream?
