[quote:Fred Garvin:MV8zOTM3NDc0XzcxMDk2NzQ3X0JDQTg0QjI2] [quote:akasuzanne:MV8zOTM3NDc0XzcxMDk2NTUzX0ExNUE2QTEw] I am currently doing a dual extract of a large Lion's Mane mushroom that I found earlier in the month. The research is very profound. It is the only substance known to regenerate nerve tissue. Clinical studies actually show that intentionally damaged brain of rats regenerate. Reviews by people with Alzheimer's, MS, Parkinson's and many other neuro conditions are promising. I can't wait to give it a try. For the person who said it didn't work for them. My review of the research indicates that for the neuro-regenerative properties, the chemicals have to be extracted with a high percentage of alcohol. The water soluble properties do regenerate GI tract ailments and cancers. Many of the commercially available products do not do a dual extract (time/expense). If you are specifically looking for neuro benefits, make sure the product you buy has been dualey extracted. The dual extraction process involves soaking the mushroom in a very high proof alcohol for several weeks and then straining it and simmering it for several hours and then combining them in a way that leaves you with at least a 25 percent alcohol solution. I found out about this special 'smart' mushroom through one of Paul Stamets many intriguing lectures. Lion's mane has been through many clinical studies, that indicate it has some amazing potentials, that range from restoring the myelin sheath, to boosting immunity. I just made my first purchase, and I'm wondering if anybody here has any experience with it, personally.
