[quote:Spaginal:MV8zOTQ0Mzc5XzcxMjU3MTIwXzE5RkU4QUVG] [quote:Lady Jane Smith:MV8zOTQ0Mzc5XzcxMjU2NDA3X0JEQkQ4NDA=] I voted no. Why? Because it was purchased using the donations of people to the church. People give those donations to be spent for the benefit of those who need help. I do not expect pastors to live in poverty, but a lambo is over the top. He helps run a megachurch -- that is a lot of work and responsibility. What would have been so wrong with a nice luxury SUV, or if he had to have a sports car, may a corvette or something a little less in your face to parishoners than a lambo?? Seriously, I can afford a lambo, if I wanted one, but what a stupid, new/borrowed money attitude waste. It's why so many new money types, end up no money eventually -- stupid choices. You will rarely see old money in a lambo, unless they just rented the damn thing for fun.
You didn't read the article, he also has a TV show with Oprah Winfrey and writes books, both things can be lucrative obviously. Just because he is a pastor alongside being an author and TV presenter, it doesn't mean he needs to live in poverty or shambles even though he was deriving income through other activities and industries he pursues outside of the church. It's hypocritical for any of us to say we wouldn't buy nice things for our wives if we work hard and earn a nice income from it. It's none of our business. If he was exclusively a pastor and the only thing he did was through the church and he was buying a Lambo with church money, I would agree, but it doesn't sound like this is the case.
