I think most health issues up til then were diet related (inadequate), and lack of environmental standards eg. pollution. since the 90s it has exploded. we have had more chemicals and RF in the environment. we also have a 'victim' culture in place now as well with strong emphasis on being different and 'special' as a ways to attract attention on various levels. then there is the alien question.. which I know most will find difficult to understand or accept.
