[quote:Yogi Mahashishna:MV8zOTUzNTM5XzcxNDY3NDc3X0QyNDc4MTYz] It's like some Atlantic island near North America's cost, like New Foundland, MArthas Vineyard or Key West had declared independency and allied with Russia or China. China is not attacking Taiwan it wishes reunification like with Hong Kong. Koreas also look like going for reunification, because one people two countries is not natural. Think Germany. [/quote]

Taiwan president calls for international support to defend democracy
...
“We hope that the international community takes it seriously and can voice support and help us,” Tsai told reporters in Taipei, referring to threats by China to use force to bring Taiwan under its control.
If the international community did not support a democratic country that was under threat, “we might have to ask which country might be next?” Tsai added.
...
President Xi said on Wednesday that China reserves the right to use force to bring Taiwan under its control but will strive to achieve peaceful “reunification” with the island.

With the Chinese all over the South China Sea and the recent threats to Taiwan, do you think China will have the balls to finally show the world their macho side?
Nobody stopped Russia from taking Crimea. Ukraine's being pushed around by the Reds and nobody is really doing anything about it, so, obviously China is seeing an opening here... especially with the government shut down in the U.S.
Interesting times we're living in. I still do not know why China is being such a brat about Taiwan though. What's with the butthurt? Taiwan seems like a pretty calm nation. But China wants to wipe them the fuck out.
