No he's not. It's called merit based immigration policy. These visa holders work and contribute. They also get chosen for jobs over citizens. Why? Because companies pay them less. Take that shit away and it reopens true competition.
^^^^^this. Border wall, border security, end/limit the flow coming in. Then deal with who is already here. Some call that "amnesty", but there's no other humane way to do it at this point. He's not betraying anyone. It's the most practical and common sense option. My worry? What happens when Dems lose the ability to use fear against us all and keep us fighting about this. I haven't been alive a day on this Earth that Immigration was not a political issue in the USA. I feel like Trump is going to end this, then what do they have?? Cue Antifa I guess....
They come here knowing they are temporary workers and that it could be altered/ended at any time. Most probably come from the more well off families in their own nation anyway. I don't think the "lower caste untouchables" comprise a lot of the H1B workers. So, it's not inhumane at all to send them back and stop the program altogether imo.
See your point, appreciate your opinion, but I guess for me it all comes down to how productive they can prove they are? I mean how long have some been here at this point? Because of Democrats, they've basically been allowed to just stay. No consequences, nothing. I know MANY. Say someone has been here 20 years. Built a life, owns a home, has a family. I don't agree with it AT ALL but there has to be a cutting off and restarting place. I'm for bigger borders, cut it off, deal with who is here, and move forward. I don't want to be dealing with the past. Boom, bang, DONE. No more staying over past your visa. No more "sneaking in." No more drugs. No more trafficking. I'm about 2 hrs from the border...cut it off and move forward. This shouldn't be allowed to become another 300 year issue. Like slavery.
There's no need to keep the ones who are here who don't yet have green cards. If they went 20 years and couldn't find anyone to sponsor them, for at least the past 10 they've known the score and could have sought opportunity back in their home countries. Buying a house without a permanent visa is madness; if they lose because of it, that's on them. How many of these people have you seen that are GREAT? It's very rare. That's because their home countries don't want them back. Now that green card sponsorship has become steadily less automatic, many who could find jobs in their home countries have left to go back. We are left with the DREGS who still hang on here because of habit and maybe sympathy. Time to remove people who aren't great and replace them with Americans who will be about as good or better.
