[quote:Pooka:MV8zOTYyNTk1XzczMzY5NDM1XzZCMDQzN0JE] [quote:Anonymous Coward 77408350:MV8zOTYyNTk1XzczMzY1Nzk5X0QwQ0Q5MkZE] Wow. Was testing out my tub water storage with one of those aqua pods by filling it in a second tub and leaving it for a couple of months. Found out the other day that there was lots of mildew on the bottom of the tub--no mildew however in the plastic interior. There were no visible holes; It did not appear to have leaked, as it was still full to the top; the tub was very clean when I put the aqua pod in there and filled it with water. Any ideas what happened? Lesson learned is always test your prep products before you need them.
I'd suggest the mildew came from dampness - the pod no doubt perspired at some point, and lack of air movement under it allowed mildew to grow. Might spray a water/bleach combination in the bottom of the tub prior to filling the pod next time and see if that prevents it. You are blessed with these pods! Nice going!
Continuation of another thread of wonderful people with the best ever ideas for practical prepping even for those with little money.
We discuss power outages including CME and EMP, heating and cooking methods, first aid, foods; we run disaster scenarios to see if we know what to do.
This is probably the only prepping thread a person would need, whether long-time prepper here to share, or newbie prepper here to learn and everyone in between.
