[quote:NOLAangel:MV8zOTYyNTk1Xzc2MDQ2MzM2XzE0RDZFQkQ=] ^^^^ Good discussion. I noticed that BP referenced the Dalton Grand Solar Minimum and I found this interesting information regarding it: "While the Year Without a Summer, in 1816, occurred during the Dalton Minimum, the prime reason for that year’s cool temperatures was the highly explosive 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora in Indonesia, which was one of the two largest eruptions in the past 2000 years. One must also consider that the rise in volcanism may have been triggered by lower levels of solar output as there is a weak but statistically significant link between decreased solar output and an increase in volcanism." <50 https://www.thegrandsolarminimum.com/dalton-minimum/ We are definitely seeing an uptick in volcanism lately, so that coupled with the cooling temperatures from a grand solar minimum could be bad. I live in the south too, but am expecting that anything could happen. Colder than normal temperatures, snow where it usually does not snow and where it does snow much bigger amounts than usual. Also if just the Northern states are severely impacted, you have to consider food production will be impaired and roads may be closed not allowing transportation of vital necessities. I think it is going to be a bumpy ride for us all. :Buckle Up:
Continuation of another thread of wonderful people with the best ever ideas for practical prepping even for those with little money.
We discuss power outages including CME and EMP, heating and cooking methods, first aid, foods; we run disaster scenarios to see if we know what to do.
This is probably the only prepping thread a person would need, whether long-time prepper here to share, or newbie prepper here to learn and everyone in between.
