In the 1990s Romania and Poland had intelligent leaders that got them safely across a period of uncertainty and crisis. The Serbs had a stupid leader who may have had a spine but he had no brain.

That and the resulting conflict with NATO is the only reason you're not applying for NATO membership too, but only for EU membership.

What does EU got to do with military installations? Is EU a military alliance or is it economical and political? Slovenia is a member of NATO btw but...if there would be some American trying to install one billion dollars worth of military installations in the country there would be such backlash at least government would fall. Do you realize that you became a legit and first target for the Russian nuclear warheads? You people are okay with that?!! If war breaks out, Romania and Poland will be gone in first hour and your people are okay with that? Weirdest bunch...

Original Message Russian officials and senior lawmakers have reacted angrily to opposition protests in Venezuela that support opposition leader Juan Guaido’s claim to the presidency.

Alexei Pushkov, chairman of the information committee at the Federation Council, on Thursday called Guaido’s declaration “an attempted coup” backed by the U.S.

Russia has been propping up incumbent President Nicolas Maduro, who took office for a second term earlier this month, with arms deliveries and loans. Maduro visited Moscow in December, seeking Russia’s political support and financial support.

“It’s impossible to imagine that this was spontaneous,” Pushkov said on state-owned Rossiya 24 television station, referring to the opposition protests. “That was a pre-planned action, and it was certainly coordinated by the United States.”

President Donald Trump has promised to use the “full weight” of U.S. economic and diplomatic power to push for the restoration of Venezuela’s democracy.
