I have skills in construction, handyman/maintenance work and food service jobs, cooking, sous chef, kitchen prep. I'm a hard worker, that's never been the issue. Wherever I end up, I'll find a job to keep staying afloat.
You might consider New Mexico. It's inexpensive to live here, at least out of the big cities it is. I can't write the name of the town wherein I live because GLP changes it to something weird, but here's a link-- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altap dancerordo,_New_Mexico Nobody bothers you, if you don't want to be bothered. There are no EQs, no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no volcanoes. We do have a windy season, but that's about the worst. The water is of course terrible, but I just fill up jugs. Of course it gets hot as hell in June/July, but that's the worst of the heat. It rarely snows, and the winters are mild compared to elsewhere. It is a liberal State, but like I said, if you don't bother anyone, they don't bother you. You could definitely find a job here, given what you've said your skill set is. I've lived here over four years, and I really like it here. I'm 60, though, and just like the quiet life. If you like to bar hop, then this isn't the place for you....lol, there is only one bar. I've never been, so I can't say anything about that. Do some research about the area....I mean, there's Las Cruces, Ruidoso, and Roswell, too. I wouldn't want to live in Las Cruces, though, too many people for me, but it's where I do most of my shopping. I'm very happy here in "Alamo".....:hf:
https://twitter.com/GarofaloWX/status/1105650096744468480 :chuckle:
Original Message
I have a little over a thousand bucks saved up and I know in the grand scheme of things that isn't much but I want to use it to get a Greyhound ticket somewhere that is vagrant/homeless friendly, maybe buy a tent, rent a spot in some national forest maybe or find a work exchange program (preferably not a left-leaning commune) but I do not fit into society anymore and there is nothing left here but pain and I need to get away before I drive myself more crazy. Any pointers? I'm in Texas right now but ready to move just about anywhere.
