[quote:Lime Flavoured Redux:MV8zOTk5Njc0XzcyMzk5NDMyX0FBMzBBN0U2] [quote:kaibosh:MV8zOTk5Njc0XzcyMzk3NjMwX0E3NjU2NTk3] I grew up in a small town in the interior of British Columbia. Not too far from town is an area where sasquatches spend time at certain times of the year, sort of a crossing for an annual migration. The back road into that area has regular and routine sightings of them, and has for as long as history has been recorded there. The people living up that road keep quiet about it now, they got sick of idiot reporters making fun of them when a sighting would 'get out'. Two elderly women almost hit one with their car that was running across the road, and when someone from a city rag went to their house to harass them he told them it was probably a black bear on its hind legs they saw. One of the women physically assaulted the reporter and told him to get the fuck off her property or she would shoot him. A local minister went kinda nuts with gold fever, bought property where a creek ran down a canyon and had a pretty fair sized sluicing operation on the go. His family kind of went wonky, and years later they revealed that while living there they had encountered a wounded juvenile creature at the edge of their property. They left food out for it and over time the family of sasquatches living in the nearby mountains were somewhat 'friendly' to them. It never went beyond them sitting quietly at one end of a natural meadow, and the creatures lingering at the other end, with gifts of fruit and stuff left for them, but... It had a serious impact on the family. There are big rivers heading back into extremely remote country, and several fishermen going up these rivers alone in a small aluminum boat to fish for steelhead have had the absolute shit scared out of them on many occasions. They will be standing in the water, in utter silence, and out of nowhere fist sized rocks will whistle at terrifying speeds past their heads. Needless to say they get the fuck out of there - real quick. The creatures also bang large rocks on trees when certain campgrounds at lakes get busy, and they will do this for hours and make horrible roaring sounds that have people packing up in a hurry. In the 1950's, entire logging camps full of men would quit because they couldn't handle the creatures banging on trees in the night, upset at their encroachment. The original settlers to the area, sometimes working with local natives to trap for fur in these same mountains, had to live in the mountains through the winters with a constant feeling of being watched. The creatures were extremely cunning, and even expert trackers wouldn't be able to follow their trails. They could move perfectly quietly through the bush quite fast, and were masters at not leaving markings of any kind. Quite a few men would be shaving with a small hand mirror set into the bark of a tree and see a face behind them, just perfectly still watching them. Creepy stuff. I have absolutely no doubt that the Albert Ostman story is factual to the last word. The behaviour of the creatures that he describes fits many of the stories from this area. http://www.bigfootencounters.com/classics/ostman.htm
These kinds of posts are one thing Like about GLP :hf:
