[quote:Anonymous Coward 192293:MV80MDA4MjRfNjI3MDAyM19ERTY0NUFFQQ==] [quote:Stasis] I think it would be a nightmare. Maybe pages and pages of pinned, useless threads. I like the idea that those threads that interest us could be voted to be pinned, eventually, but everyone here has such diverse interests. And then there are the trolls. 10 threads about poo pinned just for shits and giggles (pun intended).
You forgot about the other part of it. You can vote to unpin threads as well. And too many threads getting pinned wouldn't be a problem because the number of votes required to pin a thread could be raised and raised and raised, if necessary. So, if there's too many threads pinned when it only requires 10 votes, then raise the limit to 15, then 20, then 25, etc.
I think that there should be a "Pin button" and an "Unpin button" on every thread. If you think a thread should be pinned, there should be a "Pin button" for you to click. If there's enough votes for a thread to be pinned (maybe 10 or more), a thread would automatically be pinned.
On the other hand, if you think a thread should never be pinned or a thread that has been pinned should be unpinned, you would click on the "Unpin button." If there's enough votes for a thread to be unpinned (maybe 10 or more, for example), a thread would automatically be unpinned.
What do you think about this idea?
