Original Message Stunning photographs show a thick haze of yellow pine pollen hanging over large swaths of the southeastern US where residents have been relying heavily on their allergy medications so far this spring.

Doctors across North Carolina and Tennessee are reporting increases in number of patients complaining of itching, watering eyes, runny nose, sneezing and coughing as intense allergens fill the air.

In Raleigh, North Carolina, photographers have been documenting massive clouds of pollen dominating the skies since spring first sprung on March 20.

A tree-cutting service in Chattanooga, Tennessee, shared a video of a 'pollen bomb' dropping in front of a home last week.

The clip showed a massive tree branch slowly descending toward the ground, where a giant yellow cloud bloomed on impact.
