I mean, it must have had extra large buttons etc?
You surmised correctly. There was a small peddle for each ring, and a number of preset indents. [quote:anonym0us coward:MV80MDE3MDYyXzcyNzQ4MjE1X0I4Q0IzQTRD] I cant find any information on the size of the camera
Have you considered googling "Apollo camera"? The main EVA cameras were modified Hasselblad 500 ELs. https://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/a11/a11-hass.html E stands for electrical. The notion that batteries can't work in a vacuum is just another misunderstanding. [quote:anonym0us coward:MV80MDE3MDYyXzcyNzQ4MjU5X0Q1MTFCMzYz] Where did they store these suits on the rocket?
https://www.quora.com/Where-did-they-store-the-suits-in-the-LEM-of-Apollo-11 [quote:anonym0us coward:MV80MDE3MDYyXzcyNzQ4MjU5X0Q1MTFCMzYz] Also, how did three astronauts get out of the suits (if the only way in and out was from the back), once they had their gloves on?
By taking the gloves off first. The gloves aren't an integral part of the suits. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo/Skylab_A7L [quote:anonym0us coward:MV80MDE3MDYyXzcyNzQ4MjU5X0Q1MTFCMzYz] Did they zip each other up at the back?
Yes. Mind you, the zippers themselves aren't airthigh. They keep the rubber air seals together. [quote:anonym0us coward:MV80MDE3MDYyXzcyNzQ4MjU5X0Q1MTFCMzYz] My mind is just boggled at the thought of how they coped with getting dressed and undressed in these suits and gloves, especially in a really confined space. I would love to see this demonstrated.
For Apollo you might be out of luck. They were prolly to busy to operate a camera at the same time. [quote:anonym0us coward:MV80MDE3MDYyXzcyNzQ4MzQ1X0M0N0VBNDNF] did the old astronauts use batteries in the backpack too?
Yes. They needed electrical power for pumping cooling water and for the radio. :book:
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I notice you said they did need batteries for the suits. Why did they not use batteries for the cameras if the batteries were safe and efficient for use in the suits. Also, although you say the astronauts zipped each other up at the back, the only videos I have found of astronauts being booted up involve a whole team of people. And it's not just the female astronauts, but all of them. I cant see anyone being able to do this themselves, or to assist another astronaut once they are booted and suited themselves. It would make it a lot more credible if they could show us how it's done, especially in a confined area. It's hardly asking for a lot, there are tons of people out there willing to demonstrate given the opportunity. If it can be done then it wouldnt be hard to demonstrate. And it would not cost anything either. Clearly a lot of suits were made and no doubt are still being made.
