[quote:Hmmm 152927:MV80MDQyMzJfNjMwNjUwMF81MkY2OEExRg==] It is the job of the police to apprehend and bring the criminal to justice. The police are becoming judge and jury, no need for courts. [/quote]

WEST MEMPHIS — Two days after a police officer fatally shot a 12-year-old boy, shock and disbelief gave way to anger Sunday as relatives of the boy and residents of the apartment complex where the shooting took place questioned how police could have made such a mistake.
Police say the boy had what appeared to be a gun in his hand at the time of the shooting. Relatives say he had nothing more than a bottle of soda pop and a bag of chips.
DeAuntae Farrow, 12, died just before 10 p.m. Friday at the Steeplechase Apartment complex, after he was shot by a West Memphis police officer, who police have said mistook the child’s silver toy gun for a real handgun.
