From the time I was 17 and even now at 51. I've never had any trouble getting a man to mentor me. Of course, I've never threatened them or their livelihoods either. MEN are very reasonable.
Men actually THINK about the next word from their mouths, about today's business, about the future. About consequences and potential rewards or pitfalls. Thinking is good. Women FEEL about everything and respond to those feelings at the top of their lungs, lashing out at anything or anyone that gets in the way of their feels. In business, you'd better think.
Agreed. There are men I can learn from at my job. There is nothing of use any of the women could teach me. I will not be used or manipulated, so I am of little use to them except as my position helps theirs. My boss is a man and he is honest with me and I am honest with him. There is one female supervisor and her people are asked to forgo their free time at lunch once a week so that she can show them an inspirational video and bring in lunch. I'm so glad this control freak is not my boss.
"“We’re in a bad place — no one’s ever gotten promoted without a one-on-one meeting, I feel confident in saying that,” Sandberg tells “CBS This Morning” host Gayle King Friday. “Senior men right now are nine times more hesitant to travel with a woman and six times more likely to hesitate to have a work dinner.”
Women — and especially women of color — don’t get the same amount of mentoring as men, “which means we’re not getting an equal seat at the table,” Sandberg says.
“It’s not enough to not harass us, you need to not ignore us, either.”"
