Original Message Idly seating for decades in a field, ignored and forgotten, a seemingly unremarkable rusty rock that much later became dubbed "Veas-01" by a curious entrepreneur that discovered it and realized it was a big chunk of iron, has been researched and studied for over a decade now by a dedicated group of individuals that have come out with even more questions than when they begun this quest.

The field it rested upon, was part of a Jesuit State during the latest part of the Spanish colonial phase on Chile, called "La Ollería" ("the cooking pot shop")because it was where a very advanced for its time Jesuit Metal Works was located.

The rock itself had two curious rectangular shaped cavities, which seemed clearly manmade, althought the method for such carving is still unknown, and, given the properties of the material itself, is a puzzle on its own.

The rock, weighing over 6 tons, and which is 98% Iron, has a mix of what seems to be manmade and also meteoritic characteristics. It also emits a series of frequencies, and also has a very complex magnetic field. At one point, the head of the National Security Agency of the USA, was interested in purchasing the rock, and offered a non trivial sum for it, but the owners of the rock (which became owners of it through Chilean mining laws) turned the offer down, looking for a bigger amount.

The story of this rock mixes with the story of the Jesuit father that headed the Jesuit convent, of German origin, and points out to a hidden scientific knowledge possesed by that religious order and lost since, at least from general knowledge.

If you are so far interested, I invite you to read the following links that will paint much more details on this curious object and we can then comment on this.

[link to www.geofisica.cl] (English, link to pdf is dead, will try to find it elsewhere and link it here)

Edit: Found it, here it is in English. [link to www.geocities.ws] Enjoy, 26 pages of pure baffling science and anwers that beget only more questions!!!!!!

[link to www.bibliotecapleyades.net (secure)] (Spanish, use Google translate, it has the whole story with all the "sides" and perhaps will be too much as the story of this meteorite is good for a sci fi spy novel)
