Space is limited and canned veggies don't have enough bulk or fat or calories. About the closest I get is campbells chunky soup or beef stew. ..but for efficient use of space I would rather store peanutbutter, spam, and corned beef hash.
Does peanut butter have a decent shelf life? I think I read somewhere that the oils will make it go rancid?
I have plastic jars of Skippy and Jif from 1995 that are in great shape. I still open them and try them out as the years go by. I promise you they will last for many years. I still buy new as I add to my preps. Peanut butter is a great survival commodity. I do rotate them out in the winter to treat the birds. They love it too.
As more people panic and buy up what they can, it will only worsen .
