I hope you can understand how insane that is for the rest of the planet to comprehend. I don't mean to be insulting, just telling it the way it is. Sorry if you took offence.
I can see where you're coming from. A lot of people tend to spread disinformation about what you need to grow food. My friend grows a crazy amount of food on less than 1/4 acre with her gardens and meat rabbits. Although she is not self sufficient she does A LOT on very little. Most say it's not enough land but she supplies well over half her own food and still has more yard left to convert to garden space.
You should hang out with her more! Doing the same on 1 acre with crazy high water costs So Cal Libs be taxing me out of here. My zoning is unlimited agriculture, but i cant afford water for grass forget about crops. We also do the thumper thing and chickens. It does cost more than store bought mass farmed produce, meat and eggs even more than "organic free range non anti bionic ect". The lessons learned are priceless! I only keep enough to have the option of expanding! The infrastructure is the key, Having the materials on hand. :White dragon:
Folks talking about water for gardens, etc., might be interested in what we did here yesterday... I designed and built a Wirtz spiral pump using only parts from the hardware store... we launched it yesterday. It is in our little river right now, moving 20 gallons an hour over 450 feet from the river to our home. We shot video of the launch: https://youtu.be/O_YcZfzCdN4 ... I was so excited to see this thing work so well. We will use the water for cooling, for animals, and for the garden. No more paying for outside water!
As more people panic and buy up what they can, it will only worsen .
