Original Message Hopefully someone on here can enlighten me.

Per the constitution, congress passes laws. The executive branch executes them. That means all Executive Orders should be written on how to implement current law.

The EO that President Trump wrote that allows confiscation of assets seems to me to be more like a new law. I love the idea, but I can't figure out the legal basis that lets him do it.

Can anyone explain either precedents or other rulings that would justify it??? TIA
