Original Message Puerto Rico is a "possession" or "territory" of the US.

They do not have to file US federal income taxes unless they have income outside of Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rican's are eligible for Medicare, Welfare, and food assistance....fully or partially funded by US taxpayers.

So the question remains...why is this country such a pushover for these shitholes that can't sustain their own economies?

We have also given...FEMA Public Assistance Funding Tops $4 Billion for Puerto Rico. FEMA has awarded $208.5 million to the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority and $22.6 million in grants to the University of Puerto Rico to cover Hurricane María-related expenses.

On March 2, 1917, the Jones–Shafroth Act was signed, collectively making Puerto Ricans United States citizens without rescinding their Puerto Rican citizenship. ..

There is a lot more free mony that runs into the 10s of billions that we the taxpayers give to Puerto Rico but nothing is said.
