Blows me away.
They're not subs. They are semi submersible. Meaning they don't dive, just most of the boat is underwater.
That’s what I thought until I watched the one in the vid that can dive to 300ft. But even since that vid it seems things have moved on, I guess they would bearing in mind the cargo is usually in excess of Several hundred million Dollars per trip. Simply mind blowing. I have to confess to this. Obviously we all know there is a huge amount of money in the drug trade, but I naively had ZERO idea we are talking these sorts of sums ‘per trip’. Can you imagine reversing this situ & undoing all the shit drugs create & that money going ‘into’ the economy rather than wasted on violence causing nonsense. Drug policy re-think, shoot on sight. U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Interdicts Suspected Drug Smuggling Vessel
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro (WMSL 755) crew members board a self-propelled semi-submersible suspected drug smuggling vessel (SPSS) June 18, 2019, while operating in international waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Purpose-build smuggling vessels like SPSSs are designed to hold large quantities of contraband while evading detection by law enforcement authorities.
