[quote:kaibosh:MV80MDkyOTA0Xzc0MjUxMjE0X0VBQ0RFNUQ5] Oh Christ will you people give it up with this 'serial killer' nonsense! Every time someone stubs their toe in this Province some tabloid tries to connect it with the 'Highway of Tears'. People act like we are living in some kind of surreal foggy wasteland up here where killers roam the highways, for fuck sake every 2 minutes there is a $500k diesel pusher American motorhome driving by that same spot. Pro tip: Not EVERY highway in BC is part of the 'Highway of Tears', which has never had anything to do with random killings by 'serial killers'. Now let's all share in the collective embarrassment that is the RCMP giving their press release for this several hours ago with the 'cat filter' engaged. No, I'm not kidding. [/quote]

A North Carolina woman and her Australian boyfriend who were shot dead on the side of a Canadian road could have been victims of a serial killer.
The bodies of 24-year-old Chynna Deese and her partner Lucas Fowler were discovered on the Alaska Highway in British Columbia on Monday.
Local police have now launched an investigation into the deaths.
The couple were travelling along a 450 mile stretch of road known as 'The Highway of Tears' at the time they disappeared.
Between 18 and 50 women have disappeared or have been murdered on the highway in the years since 1970, sparking fears among locals that the couple's deaths could have been the work of a serial killer.
