North Korea has fired two unidentified projectiles from an area near Wonsan on its eastern coast.

The projectiles landed in the East Sea (also known as the Sea of Japan), South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

"Our military is monitoring the situation in case of additional launches and maintaining a readiness posture," they said in comments reported by South Korea's Yonhap News Agency.
