WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Wilson County Sheriff's Office said someone yelling "shots fired" at the Wilson County Fair sparked panic to the masses and that several people are being detained after multiple fights broke out.
It happened late Saturday night as tens of thousands of people gathered at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center.
According to the WCSO, someone started yelling "shots fired" on the midway, the main drag for the fair. FOX 17 News was told this sparked panic in the crowd. Officers arrived and found no evidence of shots being fired. This comes just weeks after mass shootings in El Paso, Ohio and California.
