The RCC is about control rather than enlightenment of the flock. God caused them to stumble by giving them the truth (Greek NT and Hebrew OT) and the Latin Bible was in use by 450AD. 1,000 years later they started abusing the flock. Long sad story, but what is coming will make that seem like small potatoes. 
Mary of Bethany is the beloved Disciple of John the Baptist, any 'Christian' would know that.

Original Message At the Cana Wedding, the only thing recorded in The Bible which she talked about was her immediate request to Jesus for more wine. Typical of a juicer to do. She did not even say "Hi" to Him and the Disciples, she was hanging around with the wine in the kitchen instead of helping with the guests, she already knew Jesus could make great wine then like He had always done for her at home, and she never said "Thanks, Son! You are The Best!"

She was sloshed, Jesus knew it as He said to her, "Woman, What have I to do with you?" The next day they all had to go to Capernahum for her to sleep off the hangover.
