So, you guys need to understand there is a lot of videos just coming out now because of the blackout.
Here is the rundown:
Protesters were/are mainly Shia, protesting their Iranian-backed Shia majority government. The Iraqis protesting view themselves as Iraqi first and foremost. They are mostly young and seem fed up with division politics, simply protesting because they are fucked economically and such.
For example, In a Shia majority neighborhood Khomeni's face was ripped from a billboard by Iraqis
