[quote:Anonymous Coward 77998374:MV80MTYzODcwXzc1NzYyNTE5X0JCMTA4RkQ1] I've been drinking distilled water for 30 years. In the last 3 decades, I've only been sick just once, a minor bout of the flu (the same flu that knocked everyone else on their ass). I eat healthy too which is a big factor, but no less important than the water. I use filtration systems for the water I bathe with but unfortunately it's not distilled. However, I do intend to install an inline distillation system & storage tanks for basic household needs. It bares mentioning that our skin is the largest organ of the human body, & it's porous nature causes people to absorb an average of 5 lbs. of water-weight during the typical hot shower (heat accelerates absorption). Also, anyone telling you minerals from water are necessary for human health are sorely misinformed. Yes, the body needs minerals, but those minerals can only be assimilated for use in the body when they're found in short & long-chain molecules from food we consume. If the minerals dissolved in water were useful in the body, you could suck on a rock & get your daily vitamins. It's no different, & no less preposterous. Don't believe the emerging propaganda against distilled water that's popping up over these last few years. Distilled water is simply chemically pure H2O. The sewage coming out of the tap in most American localities is dosed with 200+ different chemicals, none of which are good for you. US Naval vessels use distilled seawater for drinking & bathing, & have been for a century or close to it. I don't know if they put admixture into the water tbh, but I know during WWII they didn't. Couldn't find much online about it. Would worry a bit about imbalancing the body's chemistry but maybe far more good would be the result. Thoughts?
