The Cascadia subduction Zone is currently releasing lots of pressure on its upper end. And now, quakes start quicking off near the lower end of the same Cascadia along the Blanco Fracture Zone and on the Gorda Plate.
As shown on the map above, within the last 12 hours, the Blanco Fracture Zone and the Gorda Plate were hit by 2 very shallow earthquakes, respectively:
M3.7 – Off the coast of Oregon
M4.3 – 145km WSW of Gold Beach, Oregon
M3.9 – 142km WSW of Gold Beach, Oregon
M3.0 – 212km W of Bandon, Oregon
