This seems like a big change of tact, as Kid Rock has always mentioned his preference to stay in Detroit, despite it's economic and social woes.
- He's not renewing his Detroit restaurant deal
- He's selling one of his two homes in the city area
- He has disassembled the recording studio in his other Michigan property
- He has pumped millions of dollars into local industry and the underprivileged in the area
- He claims Al Sharpton of the NAN has prompted the move
To quote rock: “I appreciate all who have patronized our place and still have much love for the City of Detroit and the people / organizations that I have helped there for years, black, white, whatever, but learned long ago, go where you’re celebrated, not tolerated.”
