Original Message So, my daughter came home the other day after work and told me that she was just in the Starbucks line and paid for the coffee for the person behind her. When she got to the window, the barista informed her that she was the 6th person in line to do that (pay it forward, I suppose). Now a little background about my daughter: she’s 24, lives at our home with my sweet grandchild, has a minimum wage job, a piece of crap car that we(her parents) maintain and not much else success-wise going on in the foreseeable future. I was angry that she decided to pay it forward when she doesn’t have a pot to piss in and told her as much! She replied saying I would be the asshole gen xer that would break up the “giving” momentum and just get my own coffee, lol. I told her that was probably true IF I ever went to Starbucks in the first place, which I don’t and won’t. I also reminded her that delivering a sandwich or two to a homeless person is a much better option when it comes to charitable giving. Not paying for someone’s coffee that obviously has it so good they can pay $7 for a cup of shitty hipster coffee. This world is getting more and more screwed up and backwards every...single...day!
