Original Message Person 1 uses the kitchen sink faucet on hot water. When done, he closes the faucet. He does NOT turn it to cold water before shutting off.

Person 2 arrives a few minutes later, turns the faucet on, and puts his hands immediately underneath the water, and ends up burning himself.

Is Person 1 to blame for not turning the water to cold first before shutting the faucet, or is Person 2 to blame for not waiting a moment before using the water?
