Tel Aviv University has unveiled the results of excavations that started in 2019 near Jerusalem in a place called Tel Moha. A temple was discovered there, the very existence of which casts doubt on some biblical records.

The opening report can be found on the university’s website. The monumental temple complex was discovered in 2012 by archaeologists of the Israeli Antiquities Authority. It dates from the end of X - the beginning of IX centuries BC

It is believed that on this site was the city of Moha, which is mentioned in the Bible. It was an administrative center, the inhabitants of which were engaged in the storage and distribution of grain.

The first academic excavations were started here in the spring of 2019. Archaeologists have managed to fully excavate and explore two cult buildings. Interestingly, they were located one above the other: a later temple was built on the site of an earlier one.
