On Friday, April 13, 2029, the giant asteroid Apophis will pass uncomfortably close to Earth (within about 23k miles, or 10 times closer than the moon.
Though it won't hit us, it will be close enough that about 2 billion people (mainly Africa and Europe) will be able to see it with their naked eyes.
