[quote:Anonymous Coward 78381754:MV80MjcxNzM0Xzc3ODIyNTcyX0NFNTk4NjJB] [quote:Builder of the Adytum:MV80MjcxNzM0Xzc3ODIyNDYyX0Q2ODBERDVD] I used to have many friends in the military there and visited a couple of the bases on the regular. Our troops in Daegu are in quarantine now as I understand it and the ROK's I believe. Scary times.
Yeah, certainly is concerning, Especially the significant jump in cases in such a short space of time. Its a complete cluster fuck to try and begin to map who they have had contact with, where they have been, etc etc. I also believe that if we considered past events, such as SARS, Swin Flu, Ebola etc, individuals exhibited visible symptoms which enabled us to control the spread of the virus. For instance, in general we avoid standing next to someone if they are sneezing or coughing, it was a form of defence. worryingly we are not given the same heads up this time, so you could be standing right next to someone and not realise they are infected. Again, I believe the most concerning thing about this virus is that it is Asymptomatic, and that can be up to 14 days.
Cases increased by two thirds within 24 hr. period.
They are now where China says they were on Dec. 31.
In eight weeks they could be in similar chaos.
Daegu's mayor has asked its 2.5 million residents to self-quarantine.
Not good.
