I know this huge announcement comes at a rough time when everyone and everything is distracted by the ongoing pandemia.
However, this is MEGA BREAKING good news, and I think GLPers need to be made aware of it.
The SAFIRE project is a scientific endeavor in which an independent engineering company was tasked in 2012 with the challenge to create an experiment that could confirm or deny the idea that the Sun, or all stars for that matter, are powered by electricity. In the words of the CEO of the engineering company hired for the job “it was like asking the IRS to prepare your tax report”, in the sense you had to be darn sure that your model was right to do such a thing as hiring an independent company to try to prove you were right.
In 2019 the SAFIRE project announced publicly they had achieved its goal of proving that the Sun is indeed an electric driven phenomena, reproducing experimentally all major Solar atmospheric observed phenomena. But they found much more.
They took great lengths of precautions to be sure they were not fooling themselves, asked several laboratories to independently confirm their findings, and only then they took the step of announcing that they have found a way to generate energy and new elements using the technology embodied in the SAFIRE project reactor.
They found excess energy (roughly 14 times more thermal output than the electric input), and also, elemental transmutation in their reactor core.
