[quote:Anonymous Coward 74773018:MV80MzA3Nzk2Xzc4NDYwMDA3X0IzMzNERTFD] Maybe running out of beds because everyone with a head cold will now think they have the WuFlu. This has gone berserk in a matter of days thanks to the media. Someone had a thread this weekend about how the reporters seem almost happy when they're doing a story. It nuts!!! [/quote]

I have a friend who is a nurse at the above hospitals. Was just updated by her this morning.
1. Baylor Dallas is running out of beds rapidly at the moment.
2. Both locations are out of masks and some other PPE and staff are now forced to share some reusable masks when with patients. (Not ideal at all...)
3. Hard decisions are being made at this moment as to which patients are getting a ventilator and who is left to fend for themselves.
4. They are not testing people that don't meet a very rigid definition of the illness.
5. My friend says a lot of staff have been exposed to active cases without proper precautions or protections in place. She is no longer going back home for the time being because she doesn't want to harm her family.
Curious if anyone else has any additional information from these or other area hospitals or can corroborate this info.
I trust her to a point but don't know her terribly well. If she is telling the truth, it means the scope of this thing in DFW is being massively downplayed and covered up. Which just falls in line with everywhere else I guess.
