Yes we can see that a good crisis is not being wasted and the massive horrible stimulus bill that was created, advancement of government dependence etc.. But are they just taking advantage of a "mass virtue signal"?

I mean we live in a world that has regressed to a point that people don't know the difference between man and woman, think family is bad, take the advice of celebrity idiots and believe that the Earth is going to end in 12 years because a bartender said so. We are living in the same world envisioned in "Idiocracy". It's a possibility that all the public official responses, lockdowns and "look what I did to fight coronavirus" social media posts are a result of everyone in the world trying to virtue signal to each other.
