Original Message After watching a great number of tweets, youtube vids, etc. of blacks attacking individuals I have noticed a few common and easily rectifiable failures on the part of the victims that could increase their chances of survival.

It appears that these victims have never thought through what they would do if they were attacked. These attacks are undoubtedly causing an adrenalin rush which is part of the "fight or flight" response. The victims seem to be unable or unwilling to do either.

Perfect example:

The guy is squirming around on the ground and holding up one hand. What is the magical force keeping him from standing up?

Look at time 20 sec. This guy could have easily grabbed the attacker’s belt and pull his pants down and then run. The victim makes no attempt to get off the floor, escape, attack, or even yell for help.

Think it through.

I would guess that most people have not heard of ADD (Avoid, Deny, Defend) in regard to active shooter situations. Repeated exposure to this type of training should help people to gain a survivor mentality which many people seem to not have. So in the current riot / demonstration situations, the best thing to do would be to not be there (avoid). If attacked anywhere the best course of action would be to run (avoid). If you cannot avoid the attack, you must fight back (defend) and don't fight fair.

I watched an Instagram video of a white guy who was attacked. There was a significant amount of time between the quick initial attack where the guy ends up on the ground and the next attack (seconds). Plenty of time to get up. After being jumped on and rode over by a guy on a bicycle he still has plenty of energy to move around on the ground. Interesting that the guy who first attacked him had walked away before the next opportunistic coward showed up. By then the best chance of escape and a perfectly good adrenaline rush had been wasted.

It seems to me that if you are alone, running might be the first and best course of action. If you are a guy and with your family, plan on defending (plan now). I now minimally carry a box cutter on me as well as some appropriate tools in my vehicle.

Yelling or screaming is a good way to make sure everyone gets their phones out and captures the incident on video. If it looks like an attack is likely or eminent, yelling as loud as you can “I don’t want any trouble” as loud as you can, should do the trick.
