[quote:Brian Moran:MV80NDM4NDYyXzgwODA0NDM0X0I2QUNGMzQ2] GLP so full of shit as always post 2016. If this news was about Obama this thread would be 123 pages long with so many all caps outraged posters having a nuclear meltdown that you'd have install more RAM just to hold all the seething hate in it. Hypocrites of the highest order, paid Russian shills and lunatic fringe cultists here. Middle of a pandemic, riots in the street and can't even get about 2k members online on a weekend when we're all under stay at home orders with nothing to do. There's a reason for this, place has become a partisan happy fucking joke. I don't like Trump I don't like Biden for the same reason I don't like the dirty dogs here there and elsewhere. Snake people, cultists, disengenous hypocrites. Everywhere else is left wing hyper tribalized echo chamber but this used to be an allright place to get some unfiltered discussion going. Now it's DEFEND TRUMPS NUTSACK TO THE DEATH! OBAMA IS STILL TO BLAME FOR LITERALLY 100% OF EARTHS PROBLEMS BECAUSE HE IS BLACK AND BAD! Fucking redneck bar this place has turned into. [/quote]
US intelligence officials assessed that Russia's military intelligence agency offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants to kill NATO troops in Afghanistan.
Interrogations of Afghan militants and criminals yielded the information indicating that Taliban-linked militants were offered bounties from Russian agents, specifically Unit 29155, a branch of Russia's GRU military intelligence agency.
Unit 29155, which is believed to be made up of former Russian special-forces troops, has been blamed for a series of assassination attempts throughout Europe, including the poisoning of Russian defector Sergei Skripal in 2018.
One theory floated by some of the officials is that Moscow may have been retaliating after an embarrassing defeat during a battle in Syria in 2018. Between 200 and 300 mercenaries from a Russia-linked security firm were killed during a four-hour battle at a military base that housed US-led coalition forces.
President Donald Trump was briefed of the intelligence assessment, but the White House has yet to respond to it.
