My brother passed away about a month ago.
No one knew until I got a call from a county detective.
He was alone and was apparently sick, and was found on the floor and had been there about three weeks.
Okay, told you it was ugly. Now here is where my head gets all scramled...
Apparently I'll be the one to deal with the estate. Not much except the land the mobile home was on. Almost a half acre.
The mobile home should have been condemned already but thats the way he lived and wanted things left alone. His property is strewn with any kind of junk (useful in his eyes) that you can imagine. Inside, old furniture, dirty clothes and dishes and other useless to me stuff. Oh and nicotine covered everything. Nothing in there to salvage. EXCEPT I need to find the important papers. Property deed.
Vehicle titles and just whatever paperwork I can grab withing a littl e trip inside...
BUT, there is still some "residue" on the floor and it's killing me to think of it there. I gotta get in there, but....well, you know.....bodies kinda melt after a while. Most of him has been removed but it hasn't been cleaned. And to have it cleaned would be very expensive, they'd have to remove part of the floors and rebuild. Thats not feasable, I want the place demolished or burned down by fire department. In the meantime, I need the papers. And I have enough money to cremate his remains but thats about it.
What mask should I use to protect from smell and potential germs and bacteria. Also, he may have died from COVID but we dont know yet until the medical examiner provides the report.
So, about that mask please?
My apologies for the gruesome story, but it's what I am up against.
