If they really wanted the violence to end they would have instituted a city wide curfew months ago. all the bars and restaurants have to close by 10pm. I think the grocery stores close at 11. A midnight curfew would go a long way to stopping the middle of the night violence. it seems they are not serious about fixing anything except their political futures
that's great, not only do you support Trump's shut down of America, you also support shutting down small business 10pm is when the children need to be home
the governor has all bars and restaurants closed at 10pm state wide. i am not the governor. i did not support a thing, merely reported on the FACTS. why do you have a problem with that? low reading comprehension? (CNN)The Democratic mayor of Portland is calling for an immediate meeting with acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf and other top officials at the department to "discuss a cease-fire" and the removal of federal officers sent there to quell protests.
Mayor Ted Wheeler said in a tweet Monday night that both he and Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty are calling for a meeting with Wolf and top DHS officials on the ground in Portland "to discuss a cease-fire and the removal of heightened federal forces from Portland."
CNN has reached out to DHS for comment.
The administration is planning to keep federal agents in Portland through at least mid-October, according to an internal email obtained by CNN.
The email shows Customs and Border Protection offices being asked for teams of about 20-25 personnel. Specifically, the agency is looking for agents of a special unit that has received tactical training and can be called upon to deploy immediately when needed. The email also calls for agents from another Border Patrol unit that provides search and rescue response and intelligence personnel.
