Kamala was a very weak presidential candidate - low on the totem pole during the primaries and dropped out in Dec 2019 while Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Tom Steyer and Andrew Yang were ahead of her in the primaries.
In December 2019, CNN's The Point, didn't even rank Kamala in the top 10 candidates:

2. Bernie Sanders
3. Pete Buttigieg
4. Elizabeth Warren
5. Amy Klobuchar
6. Michael Bloomberg
7. Andrew Yang
8. Cory Booker
9. Tom Steyer
10. Julián Castro
