Original Message There's no way the stars will align for the 2020 remake of Dune. The cast is terrible, the director is dishonest and thrives on remakes and woke rewriting. And there's the virus. And also, the issue is they've already admitted they are re-writing most of the story anyhow. Dune's kind of a nerd's domain, very un-PC to the modern sensibility, so their final product won't appeal to Herbert's fans nor will it appeal to the casual person who doesn't know about, or care about, this story anyhow.

What are some other movies in the past few years which have flopped? The same director did a "sequel" to Blade Runner and it flopped.
