Original Message As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 5 He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 6 So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done.

7 On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 8 He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods. (1Kings 11:4-8)

That's not true.

Remember that the book of 1Kings (and others) are NOT part of the divinely revealed Torah. It's a human record, like a magazine. It contains truth mixed with non-truths.

How do we know its a lie? Because the bible says any Israelite who worshipped another god had to be KILLED. See Deuteronomy 13.

It also says that pagan temples were to be destroyed. See Deuteronomy 12.

So it's ridiculous to think the king of Israel and the ANCESTOR OF THE MESSIAH just went around worshiping pagan gods and building temples for them.

-----------------------

Why would Israelite scribes write that king Solomon was worshiping pagan gods and building shrines to them??

Let me offer an explanation.

They did so because they were given reports of King Solomon building those shrines. They just wrote what they saw and were not being intentionally dishonest.

But it wasn't actually king Solomon. It was a demon that had taken on the appearance of king Solomon. Yes, God granted King Solomon the ability to enslave demons. But others after him began to do it illegally using knowledge left behind by Solomon. But that's a different story altogether.

Thread: Evil people have made deals with demons.
