Service Point Solutions, a company quoted in the Spanish Stock Exchange and part of Paragon group, announced today the acquisition of Scytl, a Barcelona based company leader in digital voting and electoral modernization. The acquisition also includes Civiciti, the citizen participation platform launched by the software company in 2016, and Scytl subsidiaries in USA, Canada, Australia, France and Greece.

On 2 June 2020, a Spanish court declared Scytl bankrupt and started the process of auctioning off its assets. In late October, the Paragon Group subsidiary "Service Point Solutions" acquired Scytl including its U.S. subsidiary SOE.
Scytl became a partner of Amazon Web Services by November 2018.[19] They host their services on Amazon's cloud platform.[20]
Although during the nine-month period preceding June 2019, Scytl established a center in Frankfurt, Germany for emergency back-ups,[13] this was set up during the European elections of 2019 and SCYTL stated they did not use servers outside the United States to host US election data.
Amazon Web Services AWS has launched a cloud data center in Frankfurt, Germany, its second availability region in Europe. It joins a region in Ireland and expands AWS’ ability to deliver cloud services to Europeans.
