[quote:drinking buddy:MV80NjI2MzI5Xzk1NTU2MzQ4XzQ2M0Y3OTlF] [quote:All the World's a Stage:MV80NjI2MzI5Xzk1NTU2MTgzXzdFREMzQjc0] The local police shot a huge rattlesanke hanging out by my condo on the mountain today. First shot I heard made me draw my weapon. Some guy renting one of the condos in the building called it in. By the time I stepped out on my deck the officer and rattler were one and the same target. Then he fired the second shot. I ran down, asking if I could keep it, and was flat out refused (I was thinking of a bare wall where it would hang nicely, once dried). I think the guy wanted to arrest me. I thought of this thread, of course. First, because I wanted to post photos - though I still have no idea how to use Imgur- so no photos, unless someone cares to share on my behalf. But secondly, because I got to thinking about food. It was strange, but somewhere along the 20-minute ordeal, one of my thoughts was that I should save/preserve it in case of future nutritional needs. I wasn’t really sure about eating snake, though I know there’s an abundance available out there. So I did a little reading, and the take-away seems to be that most just consume snakes only under survival conditions. This happened on the same day I saw news about British Columbia sales at BP stations of larvettes and crick-ettes. Not uncommon, even in the USA. The production company is US-based, but it remains to be seen where the ingredients are sourced.
Do you have an imgur account? If not, go to https://imgur.com/ and create one. It's pretty easy to post photos on there from the computer or your phone. To put the photo on GLP, you need to click on it and then if you hover in the upper right corner of your photo a 'copy link' button will appear and you can click on it, then paste it on your post. You can either highlight it, and then click the 'imgur' button at the top of the window you are typing in. Or you can click the button, paste your link, and click the button again. Your image should appear. Hope that helps! I just got back from an evening hike with #3 kid (my usual hiking partner and creek wader and rock collector) and this was from our walk [imgur]https://imgur.com/vyFrLVC[/imgur]
