I took the following famous quote from the movie “Dune,” and changed it up a bit.
Why? Because it’s a message that is NEEDED for a time such as this. I’m afraid the next couple of weeks will be a rude awakening for truth loving people. Read the following carefully:
“I must not hope. Hope is the mind-killer. Hope is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my hope. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the hope has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
HOPE IS WORSE THAN FEAR.
By its very nature, Hope paralyzes you by letting you think it will get better in the future. (i.e. If you just hold on, something/someone will save you and make your situation better).
Hope puts all the responsibility on SOMEONE ELSE.
Fear will at least lead to fight or flight...some form of ACTION. But, not Hope.
You see it all the time...People stay in shitty situations, enduring pain and misery because of the HOPE their spouse will change, the HOPE that someone will act on their behalf, the HOPE that God will eventually answer their prayers and make things better. Hell, the Lottery is a multi billion dollar business based on sheer HOPE.
I've learned in life that "Hope" is a waste of time. Hope can blind you to the testicle crushing pain of reality. It paralyzes you into a state of inaction, when, in truth, you alone are the one who must take action to change your life.
Do not hope.
Stare reality in the face and deal with it. With your brains, your hands, and your heart, embrace the challenges you face in every aspect of your life.
YOU have the power to change your life, and in turn, together with others with the same mindset, change the course of our nation.
YOU taking charge of YOU is what is needed at this time.
Don’t betray yourself waiting around for Hope...
