A young Brooklyn prosecutor died suddenly last week after suffering a medical episode just hours after she left work, the Daily News has learned.
Assistant District Attorney Brittany Heaney, 30, was working late Wednesday to bring a case before a grand jury, said Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez.
Hours later after leaving the downtown Brooklyn office, she suffered an unspecified medical episode and died early Thursday.
“One of our young up and coming prosecutors died,” Gonzalez confirmed to The News on Monday. “She was only 30 years old. She was engaged to be married. She was one of my special victims prosecutors. Everyone really liked her.”
